Covid-19 Dealership Response: Safety Measures

There is understandably a lot of concern around transmission of the Coronavirus. The purpose of this communication is to explain what we are doing to support our staff and clients in the face of this challenge.

Stay at Home: Owning your actions means staying at home if you exhibit any of the following symptoms: Fever, dry cough, shortness of breath or other flu-like symptoms. Consult your doctor and advise your manager of the steps you are taking. Temperature screening, using handheld infrared forehead thermometers will be mandatory before entry.

Wear a Face Mask: Every staff member will be provided with two washable masks. Have a visible reminder at home to ensure that you do not forget your mask. You will not be allowed access to the dealership if you are not wearing an approved mask. Other PPE, like Face Shields and gloves will be provided where appropriate.

Keep Your Distance: Keep 1.5m away from the people around you. Floors will be marked and information signs placed to aid customers. Our coffee shop is open for takeaway coffees only. Meetings will be held online wherever possible and supplier representatives will not be invited for onsite meetings until further notice.

Wash Your Hands: Don't touch your face and wash your hands thoroughly and regularly. Sanitize your hands on arrival and ensure that customers are sanitising their hands too. Dispose of tissues and wipes in the bins provided. No finger print clocking and PIN codes for printers until further notice. Don't share pens! Surfaces and other high touch points will be regularly cleaned and sanitised.

By Appointment Only (Level 4 & 5 only): To control the number of customers in the dealership and to aid social distancing, clear appointment times will need to be adhered to. Where possible vehicles should be delivered to our customers' homes. Online explanations can be held using virtual meeting facilities and video walkthroughs prior to delivery to shorten handovers.

Virus Free Vehicles: High touch areas ie. keys, steering wheel, indicator stalks, gear-lever, infotainment touch screen, handbrake, door handles and driver's seat will be sanitized or covered where appropriate. Showroom vehicles will be locked and, if the interior is demonstrated to a customer, re-sanitized immediately and locked. Key control for demos and stock units resides with Site Supervisor at all times. All sold vehicles will be fully sanitised before delivery to customers.

Servicing your vehicle: What to expect

Your safety is our top priority. Please take note of the following:

Preparation: Make sure that your car is free from clutter and bring your own pen to sign the job card

Screening: We will take your temperature on arrival. No admission if your temperature exceeds 37.5 degrees.

Social Distancing: Only 5 cars may enter at a time. Please join the queue on arrival. We will come out to meet you. When collecting your car, please abide by the social distance markers on the floor.

Disinfecting: We will wipe down all high touch points in your vehicle with isopropyl alcohol. This is the recommended international standard to disinfect without damaging upholstery or touch screens.

Courtesy transport: Please arrange your own lift. Our shuttle service is not running at this time

Refreshments: Our coffee shop is open for takeaway coffees only. Should you be looking for other refreshments please bring your own.

Car Cleaning: We are operating with essential staff only. Please forgive us if your car is not cleaned to our normal high standards. We are ensuring that we disinfect your car on arrival and before handing it back to you.

Buying a car: What to expect

  • Enquiries: You can continue to enquire on vehicles online and our team will call you to discuss your needs. Alternatively phone the dealership and we will put you through to a sales consultant.
  • Viewing and vehicle demonstrations: Our showroom is open to the public but access to the dealership is still controlled. On arrival, your contact details will be taken for COVID-19 contact tracing purposes and your temperature will be taken. Access will not be granted if you have a temperature exceeding 37.5 degrees, if you feel unwell or if you have been in contact with a COVID-19 positive person in the last 10 days. Don’t forget your facemask!
  • Finance contracts: Finance agreements can be signed online.
  • Delivery: In dealership deliveries are available but we will gladly deliver your new car to your home should you so wish. Rest assured that we will fully sanitise the car and your sales executive will be wearing a mask from the moment they enter your vehicle until after they have handed it over to you and left to return to our premises.
